


Julie's Bio
Julie Hryniewicz is an inspirational speaker, life coach, author, and corporate trainer in the realm of work/life balance, wellness, and the positive perspective. As a former Ontario Provincial Police Officer in five detachments, some of Julie's specialty positions included Hostage and Crisis Negotiator, Acting Detective Sergeant, and Investigator with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission.
Following her policing career, Julie briefly became a college instructor in the Police Foundations Program and is now using her experience in policing and as a front-line social service worker to empower individual, family, workplace, and community change. Her previous careers also included child protection work with Children's Aid Society, Operation Springboard as a residential counsellor for young offenders, and with John Howard Society facilitating social skills programs in homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and low income housing complexes.
Sharing her life journey of personal and professional burnout, healing, and career/life balance with others, Julie has written magazine articles, inspirational columns and blogs, and hosted an online talk show called, "The Scoop". Julie is the author of a book titled, "Natural Balance", as well as the audio CD program, "What Happened To My Tires?" on life balance. Most recently, Julie co-produced and hosted a new hour-and-a-half DVD program titled, "Whole Living with Julie", that was filmed on her own scenic property and includes nature images of St. Joseph Island, Ontario.
Julie is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, with criminology studies from Lake Superior State University towards her degree, as well as a Law Clerk diploma from the Ontario Business College. Julie was certified as a peer mediation trainer and social skills facilitator with John Howard Society, and completed the life coaching course with the Certified Coaches Federation.
Julie was a selected participant of the two-and-a-half week, 2008 Governor General's Canadian Leadership Conference, where her desire for leadership and community change was further nurtured. Julie is passionate about sharing her life journey and has made it her life mission to empower and inspire others through their adversity and towards positive change and a feeling of fulfillment, wellness, and peace.
